Mission Of The Society
To preserve the history of the Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department and Firefighting through the collection and preservation of artifacts, documents and photographs.
The purpose of the Museum is to educate the public about fire safety and the history of firefighting in Nebraska City from its inception to the present day. This will be accomplished through interpretive exhibits, educational programming and research.

Nebraska City Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 7500 people living in an area of 114 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.
